Clinical Financial Specialist

Immediate opening for a Clinical Financial Specialist.  The role performs duties in support of quality patient care and treatment continuity.  Responsibilities include scheduling and obtaining precertification for outpatient STAT diagnostic scans. Obtaining reauthorization/recertification for infusion treatments. Completing patient estimates and providing anticipated financial responsibility prior to services. Manually entering charges for services provided at non-Wellstar hospital facilities. Reviewing and adjudicating professional billing denials, including determining the appropriate correction, resubmission, reconsideration, appeal, adjustment, or escalation.

Qualified candidates must be detail oriented with good organizational, time management, and communication skills.  Position requires a working knowledge of medical terminology. Minimum three years’ Oncology and Epic experience required. Experience with patient estimates, charge and contract data, referrals, benefits verification, prior authorization, fee schedules, self-pay/uninsured estimates. Understanding of federal and state transparency standards, and HIPAA guidelines.  Competitive salary and benefits.

Transparency in Coverage Rule

Form 1095-C

Due to new federal legislation designed to reduce paperwork, the 1095-C will no longer be automatically mailed to you.  Form 1095-C provides information about the health insurance coverage you were offered during the year if you are or were a full-time employee. You do not need this form to file your income tax return; but a copy is available to you.

Contact HR to receive a copy of your 1095-C. Forms will be provided within 30 days of your request.
