Immediate opening for a Clinical Financial Specialist. The role performs duties in support of quality patient care and treatment continuity. Responsibilities include scheduling and obtaining precertification for outpatient STAT diagnostic scans. Obtaining reauthorization/recertification for infusion treatments. Completing patient estimates and providing anticipated financial responsibility prior to services. Manually entering charges for services provided at non-Wellstar hospital facilities. Reviewing and adjudicating professional billing denials, including determining the appropriate correction, resubmission, reconsideration, appeal, adjustment, or escalation.
Qualified candidates must be detail oriented with good organizational, time management, and communication skills. Position requires a working knowledge of medical terminology. Minimum three years’ Oncology and Epic experience required. Experience with patient estimates, charge and contract data, referrals, benefits verification, prior authorization, fee schedules, self-pay/uninsured estimates.
