Aswani Thurlapati, MD, is an ABIM board certified Hematologist & Oncologist in addition to Internal Medicine physician. Dr. Thurlapati specializes in both blood disorders and wide variety of cancers. Dr. Thurlapati completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Hollings Cancer Center – South Carolina’s only NCI-designated cancer center where she served as a Chief Fellow.

She earned her medical degree with honors from NTR University of Health Sciences in India and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport, where she graduated as a Clinician Educator and served as an Ambulatory Chief Resident. Her training has emphasized both compassionate patient care and academic excellence.

Dedicated to advancing cancer care through research, Dr. Thurlapati presented her work at national conferences and authored an array of peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. Dr. Thurlapati is also a member of highly regarded medical societies, including American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and American Society of Transplant & Cellular Therapy. Dr. Thurlapati served in several leadership roles, has many certifications, and received numerous accolades including induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Society & Fellow of the Year recognizing her leadership, professionalism, and clinical excellence. Dr. Thurlapati is committed to providing patient-centered and evidence-based practice. Dr. Thurlapati looks forward to continuing her commitment to comprehensive cancer care, clinical research, and multidisciplinary collaboration with patient-focused oncology care at NGOC’s Marietta Cancer Center.
