Walid L. Shaib, MD joined the cancer care team of Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C. (NGOC) from the Deparment of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified medical oncologist, Dr. Shaib specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies.

He holds professional memberships with American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American Association for Cancer Research.

Dr. Shaib earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. During his residency, he was Chief Resident from 2010 to 2011. He then went on to complete his fellowship in medical oncology at Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia where he was Chief Fellow in his final year.

Dr. Shaib provides patient-centered cancer care at NGOC’s Cartersville Cancer Center and Cherokee Health Park Cancer Center.
